Highlights from IFBEC 2024 – Mysore
Theme: Tradition and Transformation in Family Businesses and Business Families
The second edition of the International Family Business Enterprises Conference (IFBEC 2024), an initiative by the Foundation for Research, Education and Development (FRED), was successfully hosted in Mysore for the second consecutive year.
The conference brought together family business owners, next-generation leaders, consultants, and academicians to explore how family enterprises are navigating the delicate balance between honoring tradition and embracing transformation. The conference was inaugurated by Mr. C.K. Ranganathan (CKR), Chairman of CavinKare Group, Chennai, who delivered a thought-provoking keynote address online, setting the tone for the sessions ahead.

FRED has successfully conceived and executed a unique initiative — the International Family Business Enterprises Conference (IFBEC).
The vision behind IFBEC is to bring together the most important stakeholders: Family Businesses, Consultants, and Academicians from across the Asian and African regions.
Launched in 2023, the inaugural edition was a resounding success, with close to 100 delegates participating. The majority of participants were business families from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
